DUSTEX designed and supplied a new dust extraction system to replace an existing system that was no longer coping with the metal dust, mill scale and soap dust created.
Background:
United Steel Wire Products (formally Wireplus) in Sockburn, Christchurch, manufacture wire products such as reinforcing mesh, reinforcing rod, nails, stirrups and links, to name just a few.
The problem:
In the process of manufacturing these wire components, metal dust is generated, giving off mill scale and soap dust (used as a lubricant), which if left uncontrolled becomes a hazard.
The solution:
DUSTEX designed and supplied a new metal dust collector system to replace an existing system that was no longer coping with the current demand.
